Waseca Vet Clinic Staff

I graduated from The University of Minnesota-Waseca in 1986 with an AAS degree in Veterinary
Technology and became a certified Veterinary Technician in 1986. I have been with the Waseca-Clarks Grove Veterinary Clinic since 1987. My family includes my daughter, Rue and my son, Caleb. I also have a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel, Cleo. In my spare time I like to watch my kids in their activities and sports, walking and spending time with my family and friends.

I have been a receptionist at the Waseca vet Clinic for 15 years –very fun place to work, always
something new and interesting. I have a pug named Sydney, she is 9 years old. In my spare time I enjoy baking, knitting and watching sports. Oh, I also have two children, Sara and Brian.

Attended Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN where I graduated in 2000 with an AAS degree as a Veterinary Technician, and then became certified. After working in Marshall, MN for a short time, my husband Gary and I relocated to the area and I started working at the Waseca Vet Clinic in May of 2001. Outside of work I enjoy reading, scrapbooking and spending time with my husband and our daughters; Alexis and Brooke. We also have 3 dogs; Chloe a min pin/rat terrier, Benelli an Airedale terrier, and Addy a Gordon Setter. We also have a few outdoor cats, chickens and turkeys.

In 2004 I graduated from Bel-Rea School of Veterinary Technology in Denver, CO with an AAS degree, and then became certified as a Veterinary Technician. I started my career as a veterinary technician at a small animal clinic in Saint Ansgar, IA. After working with only small animals I realized how much I missed working with large animals, which is what brought me to the Waseca Vet clinic in December of 2005. My main interest in the practice is equine medicine, but I enjoy working with all types of animals. I am also a certified equine sports massage therapist and an active member and regional contact person for the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians (AAEVT). In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my dogs Chester (Jack Russell Terrier), Jayzee (Boston Terrier), my horses; Bob & Bill (Percheron/Morgan crosses), Dancer & Buddy (Quarter Horses), and how could I forget my cat, Tramp.

I graduated from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN with an AAS degree as a Veterinary Technician. After finishing my internship in October I began working here in November 2009 when I then became a certified Veterinary Technician. I grew up on a small dairy farm of 60 cows outside Grenville, SD. In 2007 we sold the dairy cows, but we still farm about 1000 acres and now have 30 cow calf pairs. I have an older brother Jeremy and a twin brother Tony. Our family pets consist of 3 dogs, Maggie a blue heeler/border collie mix, and 2 Brittany Spaniels, Halie and Natilie, and our cat George. I enjoy hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and spending time with my friends and family.

I am Sofy Clayton from Bogota, Colombia in South America. I came to the United States in 2002. I married my husband Bill Clayton in March of 2003, he and his brother have a dairy farm and milk 45 head of Holstein cattle. I’ve been a pet groomer since 2006. My dreams came true being able to work with the dogs and cats. In my home country I have a degree in Animal Science. I love being a part of the staff at the Waseca Vet Clinic.
